I don’t feel that it is necessary to know exactly what I am. The main interest in life and work is to become someone else that you were not in the beginning. - Michel Foucault

I am a registered counselling and community psychologist based in Muizenberg, Cape Town. I provide specialised psychotherapy services, offering a welcoming space for adolescents and adults to engage with and explore various aspects of their lives and identities. My services encompass both brief and long-term therapy for adolescents and adults, thoughtfully designed to address a range of critical concerns from an intersectional point of view.

People often assume that the work of a psychologist is to provide coaching or advice for “solving” specific problems. For me, therapy is like holding up a mirror, where I tell you what I see, and we collaborate in understanding its significance and meaning for your life – both in the way you relate to yourself, and the ways in which you relate to those around you.

Relationship Concerns

Navigating the complexities of human connections, including romantic and sexual relationships (of the mono or poly kind), as well as friendships, family relationships and workplace relations.

My therapeutic style is characterised by a commitment to inclusivity and an understanding of the formidable challenges stemming from societal norms and biases. Our collaborative journey is designed to foster a reflective and compassionate approach to mental well-being in a world that occasionally falls short in terms of necessary support.

Therapy serves as a powerful tool for self-exploration and personal growth, especially for those who find themselves on the social margins. In our sessions, we will explore your unique journey within a safe and affirming space. Care, consent, and collaboration are at the heart of our work together.

I provide flexible therapy options, including in-person and online sessions, to accommodate your preferences and comfort. If traditional talk therapy doesn't align with your preferences or abilities, fear not. I am dedicated to customising my approach, incorporating various modalities such as writing, art, music, and board games, to meet your unique needs.
